Jiro P. – Skateboarder
Jiro’s love for skateboarding began at the early age of 6 with the TV sitcom, “Zeke and Luther”. Skateboarding takes him all over the USA and internationally. He is top ranked in several skateboarding competitions, including taking 1st Place in the Miami Open, 6th in the Phoenix Am, and 3rd in multiple Boarder Am series competitions!
The New York Times featured Jiro in an article. Thrasher Magazine created a video of Jiro below:
A typical day for Jiro:
- Waking up and getting breakfast between 8:00 am – 10:00 am.
- Studying and schoolwork after breakfast until 12:00 noon or 1:00 pm.
- Honing his skateboarding skills after his school work is completed until dark.
He trains at least 4 hours each day; however, it’s not all work because he is having fun skating the “street spots and just cruising around”.
Jiro says, “I like to get the schoolwork done at first so I am free the rest of the day.” It’s been working, because he has all A’s with Honors courses at Whitmore School!!! After graduation, Jiro hopes to make a living skateboarding, making film clips of his skateboarding, spending time with friends, and traveling the world!
Keep landing bolts, Jiro!
