Graduation Requirements

 College Prep Track – 22 Credits

Students planning to attend a 4-year college graduate from the College Prep track and earn a total of 22 credits including the following:

  • 4.0 credits of English
  • 3.0 credits Social Studies (0.5 credit US Government, 0.5 World Geography, 1.0 credit US History, 1.0 credit other Social Studies)
  • 3.0 credits Science (1.0 credit Natural Science, 1.0 credit Physical Science, 1.0 credit other Science)
  • 3.0 credits Math (2.0 credits above Alg 1)
  • 0.5 credit PE
  • 1.0 credit Fitness and Safety or Health
  • 1.0 credit Fine Arts
  • 0.5 credit Test Prep
  • 6.0  credits Electives (Including 2.0 credits Foreign Language)

General Studies Track – 18 Credits

Students planning to attend a community or technical college, or enter the military or workforce, may choose to graduate from the General Studies track and earn a total of 18 credits including the following:

  • 4.0 credits of English
  • 2.0 credits Social Studies (0.5 credit US Government, 0.5 credit World Geography, 1.0 credit US History or World History)
  • 2.0 credits Science
  • 2.0 credits Math
  • 0.5 credit PE
  • 1.0 credit Fitness and Safety or Health
  • 0.5 credit Fine Arts
  • 6.0 credits Electives

*Students pursuing a diploma from Whitmore School, who transfer from another school, must complete a minimum of 4.5 credits at CompuHigh/Whitmore School. These credits must include 2 core course* credits from 2 different subject areas, and 2.5 additional core course or elective credits. (*core subjects are English, math, science, and social studies)

Grade Levels

  • Grade 9 encompasses all students with less than 5 credits.
  • Grade 10 encompasses all students with at least 5 but less than 11 credits.
  • Grade 11 encompasses all students with at least 11 but less than 16 credits.
  • Grade 12 encompasses all students with 16 or more credits
